Inside the
Bridger-Teton National Forest lies this spring that is unique for its imitation of a geyser. It runs water in a waterfall from a hole in the canyon wall for 18 minutes, then shuts off entirely. No one is certain why this action takes place. Some theorize that it is because of a natural siphon from an underground lake. Two other fluctuating springs are known in the world, but this one is the largest and has the largest volume of water. Located 5 miles east of
Afton on Swift Creek Rd.
