Uinta County Library System, serving an area of 19,800 residents, has a collection of 78,000 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 2,500 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 2,300 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Internet terminals are available for use by the general public.

Staffing consists of 16 employees, of whom 3 are fully accredited librarians, plus volunteers. The system comprises one central library and 2 branch libraries. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $66,000. Patrons make 96,000 visits annually, and check out materials 132,000 times. Forty percent of all check-outs are children's materials.

Malad Valley Welsh Festival Malad City ID June28-July1 Today, Malad Valley has the largest per capita concentration of people of Welsh ancestry outside the country of Wales itself. For that reason, many residents of the Valley wanted to reestablish their Welsh roots.
