Twenty-five log, frame, and stone structures remain on 39 acres of land. The buildings include Carissa Saloon, South Pass Hotel, a livery stable, a jail, and a butcher shop. A visitors center includes interpretive displays and a video explaining the town's past. Living-history programs are offered. The site includes picnic facilities and an historic nature trail.
