Angoon is located in Skagway-Yakutat-Angoon Borough on Admirality Island south of Juneau.

Angoon is a native Tlingit community of over 700 people. Commercial fishing is a major source of income for individuals in Angoon. Angoon is the only permanent settlement on Admiralty Island, and is located on the southwest side of the island at Kootznahoo Inlet.
