Larsen Bay lies on the northwest coast of Kodiak Island
. The bay was named for Peter Larsen, an Unga Island furrier, hunter, and guide. Hundreds of archaeological artifacts have been uncovered in the area surrounding the village.
Larsen Bay is a traditional Sugpiaq Eskimo settlement. Villagers' diets consist of local salmon, halibut, seal, sea lion, clams, crab, and deer.
