Moose Pass is located in Kenai Peninsula Borough. This community of 200 is nestled in the heart of Alaska's Kenai Peninsula, and was a construction camp in the mountains at Upper Trail Lake when the Alaska Railroad was built. The Estes brothers operated a water wheel and grocery store, still in operation.
The post office was established in 1928 and there is a paved bike trail in town at Trail Lake. The annual Moose Pass Summer Festival marks the solstice the nearest weekend to June 21.
