This national park is often referred to as the "mountain kingdom of North America." The Chugach, Wrangell, and St. Elias mountain ranges converge here.

There is a visitor center and National Parks & Monuments headquarters at Mile 105.1 Richardson Hwy. Access is via the Edgerton Hwy/McCarthy Rd and McCarthy Rd.

The park is characterized by remote mountains, wild rivers, and a variety of abundant wildlife.

Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival Cordova AK May2-5 The Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival is held annually in beautiful Cordova, Alaska. Each spring, as many as five million shorebirds rest and feed at the tidal flats of the Copper River Delta during spring migration. The Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival provides the opportunity for bird watchers to be part of this incredible migration. The festival includes many activities, workshops, and community events.
