Anniston

Surrounded by the Talladega National Forest, Anniston is a wonderful town that entertains with many recreational opportunities like fishing, bicycling, camping, multiple golf courses, and an impressive 26 parks throughout the city.


The Annison Museum of National History and the Women's Army Corp Museum are excellent places to visit. They have years of information on the history of the area and an important part of history of the military.
Located in Calhoun County (North Region), as part of the metro area, it boasts of a old town beauty and old town heritage. The town was named after the daughter-in-law Annie Scott Tyler, of the General Danial Tyler, one of the Anniston's founders.
Talladega National Forest rests just south of the town and provides many outdoor activities including boating, hiking, camping, fishing, horse riding, and swimming.
