Brewton

Between Flomaton and Castleberry along Highway 3 near the Escambia River, Brewton is located in Escambia County (Gulf Coast Region) northeast of Mobile.

The is city was named for William Troupe Brewton, a railroad agent who first lived in the area. After the city was organized it took on the major industry of lumber and now has the growing Jefferson Davis Community College.

Brewton also provides many outdoor activities at the Conecuh National Forest about 13 miles from the city. It offers picnicking, camping, and hikes throughout the park. While traveling outside the city to a nice outdoor activity, staying in the city at the Thomas E. McMillan Museum is a great place to view the things from the past and present.
