Having a rich exciting history, Hartselle is found in Morgan County (North Region), near the Tennessee River.


After the city was established in 1870, it had a rocky claim to fame that made the town stronger as a community. One morning there was a bank robbery and eight blasts of nitroglycerin that woke sleeping city early in the morning. Only one person was hurt and the robbers were never caught.
The city also has many activities including basketball courts, racquetball courts, lighted tennis courts, lighted fields, walking trail, carpet golf, and an Olympic-size swimming pool.
Many outdoor activities are available in the area including the national forest, a national wildlife refuge, fishing challenges of all types with boating and water recreation activities also.
