Alabama Southern Community College is a state-supported, fully accredited, comprehensive two-year college serving southwest Alabama through two campuses and one center. The College offers a wide range of excellent university transfer and career programs.

Alabama Southern, which has an enrollment of approximately 2,000, is located in Monroeville, Monroe County, and was formed in 1991 by a merger of Patrick Henry Junior College in Monroeville and Hobson State Technical College in Thomasville. The College now includes a center in Gilbertown.

The university transfer guide, with programs that correspond to the first two years of various majors at senior institutions, enable students to transfer to any four-year college as a junior with all general requirements fulfilled.

Athletic scholarships are given in basketball and baseball.
