Baptist Coosa Valley in Sylacauga, Alabama is a 223-bed medical center consisting of a 148-bed acute care hospital plus a 75-bed long-term care facility. A recently constructed $11 million Ambulatory Care Center has tripled the size of the 24-hour emergency room and enlarged the admitting and surgical areas. Baptist Coosa Valley is a part of the Baptist Health System (BHS), the state's largest health care system. BHS is a not-for-profit, integrated health care network comprised of 10 hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home care programs, senior housing facilities, hospice, fitness and wellness centers, and the state's largest primary care network.
