Northwest Medical Center, a community hospital in Winfield, Alabama, serving the people of Northwest Alabama with particular emphasis on community wellness programs, cancer treatment, emergency medicine, obstetrics/gynecology and general surgery. In addition to general surgery, primary care and occupational health, this 72-bed hospital offers services such as laparoscopic and laser surgery, oncology, cardiology, obstetrics/gynecology, pathology, urology, orthopedics and 24-hour emergency medical service. Local residents, area physicians and members of the hospital staff contributed $180,000 to help finance construction of the new wellness center, fitness and rehabilitation facility. It features an elevated walking track, therapeutic pool, recreational pool and weight equipment. It also houses CNMC physical, speech, occupational, cardiac and pulmonary therapy services.
