The Museum of East Alabama sits just south of the Lee County Courthouse in Historic Downtown Opelika, housing more than 4,000 artifacts telling the history of Opelika and the East Alabama area. Among the 19th and 20th Century pieces are WWII Camp Opelika POW memorabilia, exhibits detailing the changes in 20th century technology, and a collection of Roanoke dolls. The Museum of East Alabama is also host to special temporary exhibits of local, state, regional and national interest.
