Oneonta is located in Blount County (North Region), 14 miles northwest of Ashville along Highway 231 placing it as part of the Birmingham, Alabama metro area.


The local attractions in the area are the Palisades Park, Oneonta Recreation Center, Woodland Park, Swimming Pool and the Oneonta Library. These places are wonderful to spend the day of visiting.
The historic sites include the Blount County Memorial Museum and the Horton Mill Covered Bridge where much information about the city can be found.
