Located at the Tom Belvill Lock and Dam, this center copies the Greek Revival architecture that was popular in the region during the mid-19th century. Furnished in period, the center contains displays depicting river travel through photographs, models, wildlife displays and audio-visual presentations. A 19th-century cast-iron fountain is the centerpiece of the garden, which is typical of traditional Southern styles.
