Berryville is located in Carroll County (of which it is the county seat) northeast of Fayetteville, between Eureka Springs and Green Forest along Hwy 62 and Osage Creek, near the Kings River and Missouri boarder.

Berryville was founded in 1850 by Blackburn Henderson Berry of Alabama. During the Civil War, the town, except for a few houses, was burned by both sides. At one time Union soldiers camped on the square.

Some popular attractions in the Berryville area include: Saunders Museum, Heritage Center, Cosmic Cavern, Town Square, The Beacham Trail and the Tourist Information Center.

Water sports (fishing, boating, skiing) are also popular throughout this area, these include: Lake Leatherwood, Kings River, Table Rock Lake, Beaver Lake and the White River.
