Clarendon is located in Monroe County (and is the county seat). Situated between Stuttgart and Marianna along Hwy 79 and the White River.
Clarendon, known as Mouth of Cache until 1837, was supposedly named for the Earl of Clarendon, England.
Two historical sites found in Claredon are the Monroe County Court House and the White River Bridge.
