Gann Museum of Saline County

The Gann Museum of Saline County, the only known building in existence in the world built of bauxite. Bauxite is the ore from which Alumina is extracted to make aluminum and high heat bearing ceramics. The museum showcases historic Saline County, Arkansas. The Gann Museum, housed in the historic Gann Building which was originally the medical office of Dr. Dewell Gann, Sr. Donated to the City of Benton to be used as a library. The museum came into being in 1980.
