Lakeview is located in Baxter County between Bull Shoals and Midway off of Hwy 178, about twelve miles south of the Arkansas-Missouri state line. Also positioned along the banks of Bull Shoals Lake and Dam, at the mouth of the world famous trout fishing White River.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 726, an increase of 241 since 1990.

The water, of course, is a hub of activity for the people of Lakeview. Boating in clean waters, excellent fishing, swimming and camping are some of the reasons people flock to this community. It is a relaxing town, complete with vacation attractions focusing on the natural environment and the land's features and history.

The Bull Shoals-White River State Park is a very popular attraction in the area.
