Mammoth Spring is located in Fulton County northwest of Pocahontas along the Missouri boarder between Thayer, MO. and Hardy along Hwy 63 on the banks of the Spring River, near the Mark Twain National Forest also in Missouri. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,046, a decrease of 51 since 1990.

A popular attraction in the area on Labor Day weekend is the Solemn Old Judge Day. This is where business owners are urged to take advantage of this big event by holding sidewalk sales. The city expects the usual large number of people that love the musical events, car show, the bank robbery reenactment, and other fun events.

Year Round Activities: Fishing and canoeing in Spring River and nearby streams, horse back riding, camping, Four-wheeling, Rock hounding, listening to the Live Country Music at the Whistle Stop Theater and of course antiquing in the downtown area.
