PO Box 667, 1601 Newcastle Road, Forrest City Arkansas 72335
Baptist Memorial Hospital-Forrest City joined the Baptist network in 1983. A year later, construction began on a new 118-bed facility on a 55-acre site, and in 1986, BMH-Forrest City opened its doors to the people of St. Francis County and surrounding areas. Just off Interstate 40 between Memphis and Little Rock
, its Emergency Department is often used by travelers who become ill or injured.
The hospital's newly opened, 18-bed geriatric behavioral unit fills a medical gap in eastern Arkansas. The large number of nursing homes in this area, plus a steady increase in the percentage of the elderly population, has created a growing need to provide care for elderly patients with psychiatric problems.
