In the Ozarks region, lofty bluffs brood over many streams. The region also is known for its limestone caves. The Ozark National Forest consists of more than a million acres of hardwood trees and offers recreational opportunities. Canoeing on the Buffalo National River is a popular pastime.

Eureka Springs is noted for such attractions as the Belle of the Ozarks cruises, Great Passion Play and Eureka Springs Gardens. For visitors interested in the Civil War, the Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park and Pea Ridge National Military Park evoke two of the state's crucial battles.

Musical shows, waterfront resorts, golf courses and cabins are among other diversions in the Ozarks.
