A popular site for use of off-road vehicles, the Sandbowl area provides a starting point for visitors to explore a variety of designated roads and trails through hilly, sandy terrain. Access to the site entrance is via a gravel-surfaced road, three miles south of Ehrenberg. Facilities at the site include a parking lot with ramps for loading OHVs, unisex vault toilets, a shade ramada and picnic table. There is no trash collection on site so visitors are asked to pack it out.
A per-vehicle fee is charged for day-use of the site, which includes up to five people from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. There are fee pipes on site or visitors may pay fees at the BLM's Yuma Field Office. Annual permits are currently available for purchase at the Yuma office.
