Lamson College is the oldest private college in Arizona. Its colorful history began in 1889 when Colonel Edwin M. Lamson, a commissioned officer of the Arizona Guard, founded Lamson Business College with a first class of 12 students who met at a residence in downtown Phoenix. That initial program was designed to train students to satisfy the demand for secretaries and clerical help at the time.
In 1988, Lamson Business College became Lamson College. The College is presently owned by National Career Education, Inc., which also operates in Santa Clara, California; Sacramento, California; and Tucson, Arizona.

The College is located in Mesa, Maricopa County, AZ. Total enrollment is approximately 60 and their programs lead to associate degrees.
Lamson is licensed by the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education to operate in Arizona and accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).
