Founded in 1987, the Merritt Center is dedicated to individual and group renewal and empowerment. Retreat programs are held in a charming rustic lodge tucked away in the rural community of Payson, Arizona with a rugged surrounding of mountains and trees (elevation 5,000 feet). Guests may enjoy healthy meals, hiking, hammocks, hot tubs, and clean mountain air. T'ai Chi Chih and forest walks are specialties of the lodge. The center is located 90 miles north of Phoenix, and just a 2-hour drive from Sky Harbor Airport. All programs are limited to a group of 22 participants. Accomodations include double/single occupancy rooms, private and shared baths. The Merritt Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing adult education in renewal and empowerment via classes, workshops and experiential programs in a climate conducive to personal and organizational growth.

Also Shish Kabobs and Chicken Shawarma. Watch the St George Dancers. Arizona Exposition & State Fair Phoenix AZ October11-November3 The Arizona Expo and State Fair is held every year. Events include the All-Indian Rodeo, motorized events, animal displays and competition, cooking contests, youth activities, and competitive entries. There is also an annual concert schedule that is announced prior to the fair. Exhibition buildings and grounds include the Agriculture Center, Arizona Plaza Building, Avenue of Flags, Cattle Barns, Exhibit Building, Grandstand-Arena, Hacienda Home Arts Center, Wesley Bolin Building, and the Party Gras.
