The family-oriented Mormon Lake Ski Touring Center is situated within the Coconino National Forest. Skiiers will enjoy more than 21 miles of groomed and well-marked trails which range in difficulty from beginning to advanced. The trails extend across the lower slopes of Mormon Mountain and border the shores of Mormon Lake, the largest natural lake in Arizona. Facilities include the nearby Mormon Lake Lodge and a Western steak house and saloon. Ski rentals, ski instruction, and a retail shop are also available. The Center offers moonlight tours on full-moon weekends (weather permitting), complete with hot chocolate and a bonfire. The Center is open 7 days a week from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The Center holds a special use permit with the Coconino National Forest for use of the trail system; a portion of ski fees are returned to the National Forest. No pets are allowed on the trails.
