Burnaby

Bounded by Burrard Inlet and the north arm of the Fraser River, and lying 10 miles east of Vancouver, is Burnaby. Here, you can take the SkyTrain to Metrotown, British Columbia's largest shopping and entertainment centre, boasting a hotel complex and over 450 shops. From here, back on the Sky Train, you can travel to Central Park for walking, biking and swimming. Nature lovers should visit Burnaby Lake Regional Park for bird-watching (over 200 species nest here) and viewing other wildlife, such as eagles and muskrats. You can rent a canoe or paddleboat at Deer Lake Park and fish, swim or hike. In Burnaby, also visit the Arts Centre and Art Gallery.
