Holy Family Hospital is a provincial referral centre providing rehabilitation and residential care to adults in their middle years and beyond. Founded by the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul in 1947, Holy Family was originally an 18-bed intermediate care residence. In 1952 these beds were replaced by a 52-bed rehabilitation unit. The current facility, comprised of 76 rehabilitation beds and 142 residential care beds, was built in 1976.
