The park is located at the junction of Quadra, Maurelle and Read islands and is noted for its diving opportunities. It is also used for kayak training, due to the unusual tidal conditions.

Access to the park is by boat from Campbell River and Powell River. The park is in a wilderness area that is not regularly serviced or patrolled.
