The Bela Bartok Archives of Belgium, housed within the Belgian Royal Library, were gathered and cataloged almost entirely by a single dedicated Bartok scholar, Denijs Dille. Through Dille's efforts, the collection in Brussels came to rival the collections in Bartok's hometown of Budapest, Hungary, at least in the quality of the documents if not the quantity. The Brussels archives are particularly well-stocked with personal letters written by the composer, many of which were donated by Bartok's immediate and extended family.
