Corroy le Chateau Castle

Search Gembloux

The imposing fortress of Corroy le Chateau is one of the best preserved medieval castles in Belgium. Dating from the 13th century, it is one of those rare military buildings which has neither been wrecked by an invader nor leveled by shelling during the World Wars. The interiors were renovated extensively during the 18th and 19th centuries; while this decor is younger than the exterior, it now qualifies as antiquity in its own right.
