Jules Destree was a Wallonian humanist and politician, among many other things. After his death in 1936, his estate passed through the hands of his wife and their servants, then wound up in the hands of the city government of Charleroi. The materials were used to make a museum dedicated to his life and philosophies, in the third floor attic of Charlerois 1936 Art Deco Town Hall. (The Museum of Fine Arts of Charleroi is located on the third floor of the same building.) Phone: +32 / 71 86 11 38 Fax: +32 / 71 86 11 33
