The Gallo-Roman Space is a unique museum built around the discovery of buried ships from the Roman era. The presentation of the artifacts is less reductionist than in traditional history museums -- instead of being guided by placards, the visitor is introduced to the characters, such as a shoemaker, a potter, a tavern-keeper, and a boatman, who travelled on these boats, and the historical details of the era are learned by osmosis as the visitor shares their "experiences".
