Austin Creek State Recreation Area features open woodlands and hillsides adjacent to the dark, primeval redwood forests of Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve. The reserve nurtures a variety of wildlife, including many bird species such as ducks, great blue herons and black-shouldered kites. With 22 scenic miles of trails, the park is popular with hikers, backpackers and equestrians.
The recreation area is 2 miles north of Guerneville on Armstrong Woods Road.
