Camino, CA is nestled among the orchards and vineyards of California's Gold Country. Right at the Sierra Foothills at an elevation of 3,200 ft, Camino sits in the heart of the El Dorado Wine Country and Apple Hill.
The town was originally known as Seven Mile. This historic mill town has been a haven for homesteaders, loggers and weary wayfarers since 1858. Wagons once rolled through Seven Mile carrying miners and supplies along the old Carson Wagon Road, from San Francisco to the Comstock Lode.
Camino is located in El Dorado County just east of Sacramento between Placerville and Pollock Pines along US Highway 50 near Jenkinson Lake and the Union Valley Reservoir.
