Search Visit California

One of the six rivers for which Six Rivers National Forest is named, the Eel River flows mostly northward from its origins. Highway 101 parallels the south fork from its origins in Mendocino County into Humboldt County. The main branch joins the south fork in Humboldt County flowing from sources further east, but also in Mendocino County. The combined rivers flow into the Pacific south of Eureka.
