Caring for the needs of the community has been the focus of St. Dominic's Hospital for over a decade. St. Dominic's was opened in 1990 to serve the Manteca community and the residents of South San Joaquin County.
St. Dominic's Hospital is named after Saint Dominic de Guzman, founder of the Dominican Order. The Dominican Sisters of San Rafael decided to name the hospital after St. Dominic, who was the Catholic faith's first true evangelizer. The Dominican Sisters have sponsored St. Joseph's Medical Center for the past century and St. Dominic's Hospital since its opening.
Set on a 35-acre campus, St. Dominic's hospital is a seventy-seven-bed acute care medical facility dedicated to inpatient and outpatient care. The hospital is designed for easy access to all patients, physicians and other health care providers.
