Built at the turn of the century, the Glenmore Plaza Hotel preserves the romantic ambiance of a bygone era. This historic hotel offers modern amenities and personal service and is located in the heart of Avalon and steps from the beach.Since a devasting fire in 1915, the Glenmore Plaza Hotel has been Catalina's oldest hotel and the second oldest hotel in California.The hotel has been home to many celebrities including Charlie Chaplin, Clark Gable, Amelia Earhart and Teddy Roosevelt. Many of our suites are named after guests of the hotel.Most of our rooms offer in room whirlpool tubs. The hotel also serves daily complimentary continental breakfast and complimentary wine and cheese in the afternoon.With over 100 years behind her, the Glenmore Plaza Hotel is the 'Queen of Romantic Catalina Island'.
