The small old mining community of Georgetown still stands, surviving many other contemporary mining towns of its day which were destroyed by fire. Visitors will see over 200 of the towns original buildings, with many now filled by shops. Local train tours take visitors through the historic silver mining country, and tours of the Silver Plume Mine are also offered. Georgetown is west of Denver on I-70. Argo Mill Historic Mining Site and Argo Town USA are nearby.
