Bigelow Hollow State Park is located on Route 197 near Union and is a popular 513-acre day-use park with anglers and hikers. Bigelow Pond is found in the center of this park and offers access to Mashapaug Lake. Both lakes are stocked with trout and also have native pickerel and bass. Over 30 miles of logging roads and trails are available for hikers in the adjacent 8,600-acre forest. No camping facilities in this park, but backpack camping is allowed with a permit.
