Putnam Memorial State Park

This 183-acre park near Redding was the site of the Continental Army's 1779 winter encampment under the command of General Israel Putnam. The site consists of remains of the encampment, reconstructed log buildings, and a museum.

Activities include a museum, fishing, picnicking, field sports, interpretive trail, historical site, ice skating. Services: drinking water, flush toilets, gravel parking. Located 3 miles south of Bethel on Route 58. Free admission.
