This historic Jacobean estate is the home of the Dukes of Richmond. The outstanding flint wings of State Apartments were added by James Wyatt early in the 19th century to house the family's substantial art collection. The Earl of March, eldest son of the 10th Duke of Richmond, has recently undertaken a major restoration program which has included the recent renovation of the Tapestry Drawing Room to its original splendour. All of the richly refurbished State Apartments once again provide an outstanding setting for the famous art collection, which includes works by the masters. Open April-September; closed during the month of June. Groups welcome; conference facilites, gift shop, and tea room on site.
