The River Great Ouse rises in southwest Northamptonshire and flows southeast and then northeast through Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Huntingdonshire, and Cambridgeshire, and finally through Norfolk to The Wash. The main tributaries are the Cam, the Lark, and the Little Ouse. The river is 160 miles long and navigable, through locks, to Bedford.
