Huguenot Memorial Park

Search Jacksonville Florida

A city-run park that is bounded by ocean, inlet, and river, Huguenot Memorial Park is located on Fort George Island just over the St. Johns River from Mayport. There are a couple of miles of beach that magically expand both in length and width at low tide. You are likely to spy sand dollars and starfish on the beach, and the dune fields are extensive, tall, and heavily vegetated. Driving is permitted on the beach, except for a no vehicles zone about 500 feet long. Not surprisingly, the park is popular with families, and the area along the inlet is calm, shallow, and perfect for children.

This is a private oceanfront/riverfront property offering 71 primitive campsites, boat ramp nearby. Amenities include restrooms, showers, dump station, public phones, playground area, swimming, fishing, wind surfing, boating, bird watching. Pets allowed on leash. Located 10 miles past Mayport Ferry.
