Situated within the pristine 63-acre hardwood hammock known as Tropical Crane Point on Vaca Key is home to the Museum of Natural History of the Florida Keys at Crane Point Hammock. The museum features 20 permanent interactive, innovative and realistic exhibits in addition to a smaller number of rotating displays which present the natural and cultural heritage of the 180-mile-long chain known as America's Caribbean Islands.
Visitors to Crane Point Hammock will enjoy the many recreational aspects of the site, such as the peaceful interpretive nature trails, as well as a serious scientific environmental experience that includes a children's museum, iguana habitats, wild bird rescue, an 'underwater' tunnel and an outdoor amphitheater; feel free to bring a sketchpad or an easel.
