The Lee County Alliance of the Arts is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1975 to foster arts and culture. It consists of the William R. Frizzell Cultural Centre and the Charles B. Edwards Building, both situated on a 10 1/2-acre campus in the center of Fort Myers. The Frizzell Center features galleries, classrooms, a 175-seat indoor theatre, and an outdoor amphitheater. The adjacent Edwards Building houses several local artists and arts groups.
The Alliance for the Arts is recognized by the State of Florida and the Lee County Board of County Commissioners as the local arts agency eligible for funding from the Florida Arts Council Division of Cultural Affairs, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Lee County.
