5126 Hospital Drive NE, Covington Georgia 30014
The mission of Newton General Hospital is to provide primary and secondary levels of hospital care to those living in the general service area; and to those who seek care from members of the hospital's medical staff.
The Newton General Hospital Authority was created in February 1952 to meet the health care needs of Newton County. The hospital opened on October 18, 1954 with a total of 36 beds. In 1984, a major expansion program was completed that brought the hospital to its current total of 90 licensed beds. The change resulted in a new entrance facing Hwy 278. This created a new space for several clinical areas and an addition of the third floor of the hospital
