Seven Shades of Jade was formed in early 2003 to import vases made of serpentine jade (aka jadestone). It is owned and operated by The Stones and Bones Fossil Company, a high-end fossil retailer which established its Internet presence in 1995. The carved vases display an interwoven veined network of streaks and patches of seven different colors. The seven shades are white, brown, orange, yellow, blue, green, and purple. There are many mixed variations due to the presence of metallic oxides in the crystalline structure, such as iron, chromium, chlorite, manganese, and magnesium. Each vase is unique; there are no two that are alike.
