This beach park is next to Waikiki and has it all. There are reefs offshore protecting the beach and keeping the water calm for swimming. The Waikiki side of the park is a picnic area, shade trees and paved walkways.
There are playing fields, changing facilities, indoor and outdoor showers, snack bars and tennis courts. Lifeguards are on duty.
Ala Moana means "Path to the Sea" and this is the site of Honolulu's largest beach park as well as its huge Ala Moana Center. A 43 acre peninsula east of the park is known as Magic Island and borders Ala Wai Yacht Harbor.
